Social Media Has Taken The World By Storm - 933 Words
In the past decade, social media has taken the world by storm. As a way to communicate with friends, family, and strangers alike, social media reduces the need for face to face interactions and introduces a world entered using only the touch of a finger. It is estimated that 69% of teens, aged 12 to 18, own their own computer and/or smartphone and 80% of those teens are active on one or more social media sites (Laird, 2012). Thus, a good portion of this generationââ¬â¢s social and emotional development is occurring while engaged on social media. We donââ¬â¢t always know if what teens are accessing are influencing them more positively or negatively, but what we do know is that teenagers are short on white matter, the tissue that ensures efficient and steady coordination throughout the brain. The connections between the rest of the brain and the frontal lobe, which is charged with foreseeing the consequences of oneââ¬â¢s actions and differentiating between good and bad, donâ⠬â¢t fully form until their twenties (Steinberg, 2007). Therefore, they are more likely to act on impulse without realizing there are consequences. Due to their limited capacity for self-regulation and susceptibility to peer pressure, teens are at risk as they navigate the realms of social media. Suicide is the third-leading cause of death for individuals aged 10 to 24 and results in about 4,600 deaths annually (Laird, 2012). The archetypal characters that exist in the Mexican-American corridos and African-American badman ballads are two distinct personas that reflect different yet somewhat similar stories. Border corridos are songs originating near the U.S Mexican border that primarily highlighted the struggles that the people of Mexican ethnic background dealt with when faced with opposition and oppression from the American authority. African-American badman ballads are highly similar to these to a great extent. These songs are primarily reflecting the ââ¬Å"outlawâ⬠figure who stems from ordinary people. They can sometimes be a malicious and dangerous person but sometimes they are portrayed as helping their lower class counterparts and conducting other acts that can be seen as more good than bad. Answer: Area of Research Project The Quantum computing is the computation system, which involves the quantum mechanical phenomena to execute the complex calculations. Quantum computing is the system of computing by applying the superposition and entanglement processes (Wolf, 2015). The research project will focus on the invention of new generation computer, which will be in the hands of the users very soon. The future computer will be different from the present day computer, which use of silicon chips and bandwidth variation. This trend will be changed very soon, when the computers will be formed with applying the nanotechnology. As opined by Barends et al. (2016), the desktops and the laptops will then be converted into wooden pegs and balls attached to sticks by strings. This nanotechnology will shrink the size of the silicon chips and will improve the computing speed and power with parallel processing. If the computing speed will be increased, then people can be able to complete their works within very short dura tion. It will enable them to perform multiple tasks within a little tenure and will help in the development too. The first achievement of this nanotechnology was found when the worlds smallest transistor was built in 2012 by accurate positioning of just a 0.5 nanometre single phosphorus atom. It was a revolutionary step to move forward to the latest developments in the computing. According to Barends et al. Scope of research The research project will reveal the scope for the invention of future computer, which will reduce the performance time of the users. The future computer will enable the users to compute complex calculations within a limited period as well as will also decrease the mental involvement of the users. It will be examined whether the use of nanotechnology can give birth to the artificial intelligence, which will change the world as well as the human society.
